Amazon Prime Day is nearly here and the first deals have arrived

Amazon Prime Day begins at midnight on Tuesday 12 July and tens of thousands of deals are set to be revealed. The deals are exclusively for Prime members, meaning those who sign up here free will be able to access them as soon as prices drop. The sale will take place for 48 hours as Amazon prepares for one of the biggest sales events of the year.

Amazon Prime Day is back to its July slot after two years when it was pushed further back in the year and shoppers can expect the usual eclectic mix of discounts ranging from TV sets to Amazon Echo Dots, cooling fans to fashion. Amazon will reveal Amazon Prime Day offers on the day itself but Amazon Prime members will be the first people who will be able to access them.

We will be looking at the best Amazon and rival sites have to offer on broadband, SIM cards, mobile phones including the iPhone and Samsung Galaxy, as well as deals from Virgin Media and Sky. If it's a technology deal you will find it here.

In an Amazon Prime exclusive deal, GHDs have been reduced to £80.99, that is extremely rare. The deal applies to the GHD Original Styler (2019 version).

The Revlon Salon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumiser is what poeple buy when they can't quite justify a Dyson Airwrap. An Airwrap costs £479.99 (sadly no Prime Day sale on that) - and the Revlon brush usually costs £62.99.

My top pick - and the best discount of the lot - is this Superworker laptop bag reduced from £122 to £45.53. Described by one shopper as the 'perfect laptop bag' it has space for a 13 inch laptop, A4 notebooks, water bottle, umbrella and items that would normally go into ahandbag thanks to all the front pockets.

Amazon fire sticks, which allow shoppers to turn any TV into a smart TV by simply inserting a stick, have been discounted to as little as £12.99. With that, users can watch Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+ and any other streaming service all from their remote control.

Competitors, including the Apple TV box, cost more than £130. There is very little difference between the two products.
