TRY ON HAUL WITH NEW BEAUTY ITEMS - 50 IS NOT OLD

At the first of the year, I promised to venture out of my comfort zone and try new skincare and makeup items. One of the labels that women of a certain age get is “stuck in their ways.” I don’t want to be accused of that, so I’m trying new items monthly. Today’s items are ones that I ordered online from Walmart.

I tried the By Terry line several months ago, and I liked a lot of their items, so I decided to try a few different things. The first item I tried was the Blame De Rose Makeup Remover. This is an oil and water-based cleanser that is infused with rose oils. The remover worked great, but since I’m not a fan of fragrances, I ended up sending this back. The scent wasn’t overwhelming, but I prefer unscented items when I can find them.

After I take off my makeup, I use a cleanser to finish the job. Makeup removers leave a film (at least in my mind), so I use a foaming cleanser to rid my face of any remaining makeup. I’ve heard many good things about the Foreo Facial Cleansing Massager, so I decided to try it.

Dampen your skin and apply your cleanser, then wet the Foreo and turn it on. The Foreo then vibrates, and you press the silicone bristles against your skin and move the device in circular motions around your face. It is a pleasant feeling, and I felt like my skin got a good cleaning. Is it better than a washcloth? I can’t say for sure, but I like the gentle massage as it cleans my face.

While I don’t have prominent dark circles, I have some darkness under my eyes. So, I decided to try two different concealers and see which one I liked the best. The first one I applied was the Hyaluronic Hydra-Concealer in medium fair. This product is infused with hyaluronic acid and has buildable coverage, and I liked that it uses a vegan formula.

The other concealer I tried was the Densiliss Concealer in vanilla beige. As we age, we develop fine lines and wrinkles under our eyes, and we must be careful to use products that don’t settle in the lines. This product seemed to be formulated for anti-wrinkle, so I wanted to try it.

I liked the vanilla beige color of the Densiliss Concealer, but the Hyaluronic Hydra-Concealer seemed to do a better job of concealing my fine lines and wrinkles. Can you see the difference?

I’ve been trying a “natural” makeup look lately, so I’ve been using nude lipsticks, balms, and glosses. My lips have a natural rosy look to them, so what appears my normal lip color might be too bright or dark for you. You need to try different colors to find the perfect shade for your natural look. The Hyaluronic Hydra-Balm is hydration, color, and shine all in one. I love how it makes my lips feel and adds just a touch of color. I chose Dare To Bare for my natural color.

The Baume De Rose Lip Care liquid lip balm is a moisturizing, vitamin-rich, and colorless balm. I was prepared not to like this lip balm because I was afraid of the fragrance. However, I ended up liking this product better than the Hyaluronic Hydra-Balm, which was not what I anticipated. This felt so moisturizing but not sticky, and it left my lips feeling hydrated.

I was anxious to try the Tea to Tan Hydra-Bronzer. This bronzer doesn’t contain a tanning agent, so you don’t get the “tanner smell” that people dislike. When I shook the gorgeous glass bottle, I was mesmerized by the shimmery liquid that swirled inside. Shaking the bottle is how you achieve a touch of subtle glittery shimmer.

I always recommend a test spot with any new product, a place that won’t be seen, such as your tummy. I spritzed a couple of times on my hand so I could show you the color, and the shade is a beautiful, non-orange color. The product does have a smell to it, so I’m evaluating if I will be able to use the product all over my body.

The last product I wanted to try wasn’t makeup or skincare, but it is still beauty related. I’ve used a satin pillowcase for years to keep my hair from being a tangled and frizzy mess. I’ve wanted to try pure silk pillowcases, but I’ve let the price keep me from making the purchase. Joe and I have several trips coming up this fall, so I decided to get the Slip Beauty Sleep To Go! Travel Set in pink. This is a small pillow (about the size of a kid’s pillow), and it is plump and firm. Carrying this on the plane will be easy since I’ll stick it between the handles. The Sleep Mask will also come in handy to block out the light. I can’t wait to try this out on our next trip, it is a 4.5-hour flight, so I’m sure it will come in handy.

I hope you have liked my Beauty Try-On Haul! All of these products are available online from Walmart.

Hi Tania, Love this post about the beauty products. I’m wondering if you could do a post about Gluten-free beauty products as well. I have celiac disease and need to find some products that are safe for me to use. Thank-you !

Love the look of your new web site

Thanks, Stella. I actually have a whole new website in development, so there will be a lot of changes soon.

I would like to hear your opinion on the Tea to Tan bronzer. Will be sharing that in a later post? Thanks for sharing all the fashion and beauty! It is always a treat to see your daily email in my inbox!

What kind of suitcase is that? It’s so pretty!

That is a Delsey. It is fairly expensive, but they have great sales, so watch for them. Here is the link: https://rstyle.me/cz-n/grhbizb6xt7

I put my Bible verse in the email.
